Abigail is 10 months old!

How can it be that Abigail is 10 months old already?!  This past month has been a lot of fun.  Abby's personality is really starting to come through.  She laughs and giggles a lot and loves to play with mommy and daddy.  She picks on Makwa, pulling on his feet and ears, and tries to climb up on him when he lets her.  She also really likes music and sometimes even hums along.

Probably the biggest milestone for us is that Abigail has finally started sleeping at night.  Up until she turned nine months old, she was still waking every two hours and having a difficult time getting back to sleep.  I talked with her pediatrician and we came up with a plan to help her learn to get back to sleep on her own.  Amazingly, it worked the first night and now everyone has been sleeping well!

 

 

The Blizzard of 2015

The snow began to fall Monday afternoon, leaving a dusting on the ground by early evening.  The winds began to blow during the evening and the blizzard intensified overnight.  By morning Daniel almost couldn't get outside as about a foot of snow covered the sidewalk and pushed up against the door.  It continued to snow, sometimes 2-3 inches per hour, throughout the day and into the night.  In the end we were left with about 30 inches of new snow on the ground.  It took Daniel most of the day to clear the driveway and sidewalks.  Thankfully we didn't lose any power during this storm and we stayed warm by the fire, watching the news and playing with Abby.

Abigail is 9 months old!

Abigail has had quite a month of milestones.  She's been working on cruising along furniture and has gotten confident enough to hang on with just one hand.   A few days ago she began walking with the aid of her baby walker.  She loves to be mobile and never stops moving!  We have begun introducing Abigail to solid foods over the past few weeks.  She's been eating pureed foods for a while and started showing interest in what Mommy and Daddy were eating so we thought we'd give it a try.  Her favorite food is banana.  Abigail has also been working on vocalizing her consonant sounds along with vowels.  Just this past Monday she said her first word - dada!  It has been so much fun to watch Abigail grow and change this past month.  She's such a big girl now.

Merry Christmas!

Abigail is 8 months old!

I finally got used to saying that Abigail was 7 months old and now all of a sudden she is 8 months old!  The past couple of months have gone by especially fast.  And I'm watching our baby turn into a little girl.  She started crawling on Thanksgiving and just last week began to pull herself up to stand.  We traveled to Minnesota a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun to watch Abigail interact and play with her cousins.  Here are just a few photos from this past month.

Abigail is 6 months old!

Abigail has had quite a month.  She has been working hard to sit up all by herself and is almost there.  She also has managed to pull herself up on her hands and knees for a second or two.  And her first tooth is now visible!  Abby is interacting more and more with us and Makwa and her personality is really being developed.  She loves to hum, coo, grunt and make silly faces.
