Vacation Fun

Abigail and I just returned home from a trip to Minnesota to visit family.  Daniel joined us for the first part of the trip, but had to fly home earlier to get back to work.  While he was with us we enjoyed time with his extended family and took a drive to the family farm in Esko.  Abigail loved exploring and Daddy loved showing her around!  After Daniel left, Abigail and I went to stay with my parents for an additional week.  We went shopping, played on the backyard playground, and visited a petting zoo full of deer, goats, sheep and ducks.  She even pet a skunk!

Our Busy Little Girl

Abigail is such a busy girl that it's hard to capture her antics on camera.  Either she has moved on to another activity by the time I get the camera out or she moves so fast that I only get a blurry picture.  She loves to toddle from toy to toy, pick on Makwa and roll around in his bed.  Her latest interactions with Makwa include giving him big kisses and then laughing.  She also loves to read her story books.  She'll either bring a stack of books to Daniel or me to read, or she'll sit down and look at them by herself.  And of course she loves to spend time outside.  She and I take daily walks to meet Daniel at the train station at the end of the day.

She's Walking!

Abigail took her first tentative steps about two weeks ago.  Since then she's been practicing a lot, trying to walk without holding on to things.  Just within the last couple of days has she really started walking by herself all over the house.  I guess this means our baby has officially turned into a toddler!

Birthday Celebrations

We celebrated Abigail's first birthday on Saturday with some of our close friends.  We played, ate lots of food, opened gifts, and Abigail enjoyed her smash cake.  It was a great time!

 

 

Daniel took the day off work for Abigail's birthday today.  We spent the special day together as a family doing things that Abigail would enjoy.  This afternoon was warm and sunny so we hiked the trails at a local reserve and then stopped at Lynch Park to watch the ocean waves crashing on the rocks.  Abigail loved her time outdoors!
