Our Trip to Virginia

Last week, Daniel had to travel to Virginia for work. I was able to accompany him on his trip. We flew from Boston to Washington DC on Monday and drove a rental car down into the Shenandoah Valley where we stayed until Friday. While Daniel was "working", I was doing a little shopping at the mall across the street from the hotel. We also did a little exploring of the area in the evenings as well. Daniel and I returned to the DC area on Friday and spent the rest of the weekend with our friends Salomon and Belen. We had planned to do some sightseeing on Saturday, as Daniel had never been to Washington DC before. Unfortunately, we ended up snowed in! Snow started to fall Saturday morning and continued throughout the day, leaving 4-6 inches on the ground by evening. We didn't mind staying in as it gave us the chance to relax and visit with our friends. Thankfully the snow stopped Saturday night and we didn't have any major delays flying back to Boston on Sunday afternoon.

The Haircut

Well, I did it! I gave Daniel a haircut. You may think this is not a big deal, but this was the first time I've ever cut anyone's hair! I got Daniel a hair cutting kit for Christmas, something he said he wanted. I knew he'd want me to cut his hair and the first haircut came on Saturday. I was really nervous, worried that I'd mess up, but it actually turned out pretty good.

Photo of the Day

My friend, Melissa, created a Facebook group called "Photo of the Day" and challenged her friends to take creative pictures to represent each week's theme. I joined the group and thought I'd post my photos on here as well. This week's theme was "Beginning".

Happy New Year!

2009 was a year filled with big changes for us. We began the year anticipating a move across the country for Daniel's new job. We packed up our belongings and sent them off in a PODS container. Then we made the cross-country trip to the Boston area. Daniel got back into the working world while I adjusted to not working. We spent a lot of time exploring Boston and the North Shore and found a great church home. We have made some great friends and are now feeling at home here in Beverly. I am amazed at all that has happened this last year for us and I'm looking forward to what God will do in 2010!

Daniel and I rang in the new year with our small group friends. We hosted a fondue party at our place and had a great time of fellowship.
